Four Living Food Groups

A. Fresh foods

Fruits, vegetables, roots and plants contain all the vital nutrients for our bodies to live. Like the earth which is 75% water and our bodies which are 70% water---- plants are 85% water, naturally distilled from the soil. They embody the element of water, which is purifying and life giving.

B. Sprouted Food

Place a seed on a shelf for three years. Nothing will happen. Water the seed and it will come alive again and grow into a plant. When we soak nuts, seeds, grains or beans in water, they begin to sprout. Sprouts are plants in their youngest and most vital stage. They are packed with nutrients. Sprouts embody the element of air, which is regenerating and rejuvenating.

C. Fermented foods

Tofu, soy, yogurt or seed cheese all contain friendly bacteria which kills the bad bacteria in our bodies and helps us to absorb more nutrients from our food. They embody the element of fire and are energizing.

D. Dehydrated Food

Let a tomato soak in the sun. The sun will dry out the water in the tomato, making it shrink in mass. All the nutrients are now concentrated in the tomato and none of its enzymes are lost. Dehydrated foods are a great alternative to cooking, Like a seed, it may sit for a couple years. But once you eat it, or wet it, it is alive again with life energy. They embody the element of earth, and are grounding and sustaining.
