The Herstory (as opposed to history) of Mother Earth's bounty

The life story of Raw Energy fruits and vegetables.

Our fruits and vegetables began as baby seeds which were lovingly planted into the earth. They were tended by the hands of families and farm workers who were well-paid and healthy. As they grew older, they were fed clean water and slept on clean soil, rich with the earth's natural minerals. One day, they bloomed into the sun, and along came gentle hands that plucked them into baskets. Those baskets came here to the Berkeley Farmer's Market, where Raw Energy transforms them into healthy, delicious foods. Within the integrity of Mother Nature, the food has not been cooked. The vitamins, minerals and enzymes has not been denatured, but are still 'living'. And thus, the food has the ability to pass on its life force and life energy to your body, which will one day return its own life force back to the earth, which will grow again into beautiful fruit. 1.

The un-life story of commercial fruits and vegetables:

Commercial fruits and vegetables began as seeds in large corporate factories named after old-money dynasties like Dole and Monsanto. They were planted by huge tractor-like machines into the soil fertilized by chemicals and animal waste from unhappy cows, bloated from steroids. During their childhood, the fruits and vegetables would sometimes hear a plane flying over them----- and all of a sudden, the plane would drop loads of pesticides that would choke them and sting their skin. This would happen 20 times a season.

While still teenagers, not yet ripe for a few weeks or even months, the farm workers would come in the cold night, before the morning sun. And their children would labor with them, often getting terribly sick from the pesticides. Their parents were not paid well enough to buy medicine. And their blood, sweat and tears fell onto the fruits and vegetables.

Once picked, the fruits and vegetables were hauled in big trucks to a concentration camp where they were imprisoned for months. After months of sitting in a cold warehouse, they were transported to a huge gas chamber where they were gassed and embalmed to look like they were ripe.

From there, many fruit and vegetable families were separated. Some went to Safeway. Some went to canning factories. Many went across the country to supermarket chains.

And many fruits and vegetables went to large corporate juice and smoothie bar chain stores. Once they got there, men in suits put make-up on them and took their photographs. These photos showed people how healthy their chain store smoothies were. Lastly, the fruit and vegetables were mixed with dairy and preservative-filled sherbet, ice, fruit juice concentrate and tap water.

Commercial fruits and vegetables have been exploited and degraded. Like every other living thing on the planet earth, fruits and vegetables should have
